As a fan of Amador County wines, you know you won’t be fed a steady diet of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and other ‘mainstream’ varieties when you visit our small family wineries. Instead, we treat you to a cornucopia of old-vine zinfandels, sensuous syrahs, supple sangioveses, bodacious barberas, voluptuous viogniers and other delicious varieties of Mediterranean origin. Because we thought it was high time to formally celebrate our mélange of Mediterranean beauties, we’re making them the focus of this year’s “Behind the Cellar Door” weekend wine extravaganza!
At this popular annual event, you will enjoy tasting from barrel and bottle at 36 Amador wineries; a diverse array of entertaining and informative seminars focused on Mediterranean grape types; library and vertical tastings; live music; and gourmet foods. In addition, we’ve added multiple winemaker dinners and a special Sunday brunch to the weekend’s activities. Separate admission is required for the winemaker dinners and brunch. Advance purchase is recommended for all events. For more information, call 1-888-655-8614 or email info@amadorwine.com.
